報告人簡介：1984年獲得醫學博士學位，曾在馬塞爾呂米尼免疫學研究中心進行對具有細胞毒性的T淋巴細胞表現型的相關轉錄組的研究，并于1987年獲得博士學位。1988至1990年，在哥倫比亞大學的霍華德休斯醫學研究所擔任副研究員。1990年至1998年，在法國國家科學院擔任研究員。1998年至今，在法國國家科學院擔任研究中心主任。1993至2008年，與C. Goridis博士共同負責神經調控課題組，該課題組在2001年搬至法國巴黎高師生命科學學院。2008年至今，在巴黎高師，他主要負責“神經電通路的發育和進化”課題組的科研工作。2013年至今，擔任巴黎高師神經發育專業的系主任。2012年至今，在法國國家健康與醫學研究所任發育與細胞生物學專業委員會的主席。

報告簡介：Dr. Brunet and his research team work on the embryonic development, physiology and evolution of the visceral nervous system, i.e. the reflex circuits that maintain homeostasis through the modulation of cardiovascular, respiratory and digestive functions. In this talk, he will first review their past and current data on the central role of the transcription factor Phox2b in the formation of this complex set of interconnected sensory, motor and interneurons. In the second half of the talk, he will present partially unpublished findings concerning the multiple roles of Phox2b-dependent neurons in vertebrate respiration, including in the central chemoreflex, which provides a crucial “drive to breathe”
